Tom Cruise's Candid Interview about Scientology
German historian Guido Knopp compared actor Tom Cruise’s speech to the Church of Scientology with a call of war by Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. The videos of Tom Cruise's speech and interview has created a stir on the Web.
Guido Knopp, well known German historian and an expert in World War II history saw the rousing speech by Tom Cruise to his fellow scientologists (shown in the video above). He likens this speech similar to the call of war by the Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.
In the second video, Cruise gives his opinion about the world and how Scientology can change it. It is so controversial, Cruise tried to take down the videos but failed. This is the video to recruit new members for his Scientology religion.
Cruise is asking his fellow members of the Church: “Should we clean this place up?” and they say with a resounding yes. Knopp says this reminds him of Goebbels’ notorious call for “total war” issued in Berlin on February 18, 1943. After seeing the video, you can see why Knopp compared Cruise to Goebbels in an interview with Bild, German newspaper.
Cruise is also acting in a German movie, “Valkyrie”, where he portrays the Nazi resistance hero Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, an aristocrat, who tried to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944 but failed. Not many in Germany are pleased about Cruise’s portrayal and many are complaining (including Knopp) even before it is released later during the year.
The German government is trying to ban Scientology in Germany; they think the sect exploits its members financially.
British writer Andrew Morton released an unauthorized biography of Tom Cruise and will be published this month. The Church of Scientology considers the book is filled with lies, and based on rumors not facts.
