Apparently Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper is getting ready to make an announcement that will aid the struggling forestry industry by pumping some millions into retraining programs.
The CBC states that Canada’s Prime Minister is poised to announce some relief for the struggling forestry industry. Recent and upcoming mill closings have prompted provincial politicians to put the heaat on Ottawa to take action which will cool the public concerns.
Workers across the Maritimes have either lost their jobs or will do as soon as mills close.
Prime Minister Harper will make the announcement the day before he sits down with the provincial premiers and some say this announcement may well be a preemptive strike in order to smooth the process.
The reported context of the announcement is funds for retraining programs although there are no specifics given as yet.
