Need another way to make sure you're safe, while still making sure everything you're wearing is colour coordinated? Now your Taser can double as a fashion accessory, completely decked out in a holster that plays mp3s.
With all the bad press about tasers lately, Taser International seems to be buffing up the public image of its products. At the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, they unveiled the new TASER C2 device, in all of its designer colour glory.
Instead of the usual black colour, the new C2 Taser's are available in fire engine red, blue, silver or pink, for $349 or the premium leopard print model for $379.
Steve Tuttle, Vice President of Communications said “It’s purely for fashion statement,” gesturing towards the four Playboy Playmates, decked out in Taser t-shirts that were present at Taser International's booth, indicating that they are "our target audience”
According to the article in the Globe and Mail, the girls were signing autographs next to a sign that read “If you love her, protect her.”
Rick Smith, the company's founder told the New York Times that “Personal protection can be both fashionable and functionable.” referring to the new holster that Taser Inc offers, which boasts a 1GB mp3 player available for $72.99.

News stories that mentioned the accessory, were rife with jokes about suitable songs, including 'Shock the Monkey' and the obvious AC/DC references. Tuttle said “you’re more likely to carry it, and it will be there when you need it," about the unusual weapon holster.
Needless to say, after the recent taser related deaths, the announcement of the mp3 player holster has raised a few eyebrows, especially in countries where civilians don't carry one around with them.
