After 11 years of marriage, Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn, 47, and actress Robin Wright Penn, 41, are divorcing. The divorce was confirmed by Mara Buxbaum, Penn's publicist, but no details were released. The couple have two teenaged children.
Penn was previously married to Madonna, from 1985 to 1989. He won an Academy Award for his role as a grief-stricken father in a 2003 movie, Mystic River. Wright is known for starring in The Princess Bridge and Message in a Bottle. She's also in the Beowulfmovie, which opened in November.

The Princess Bride is one of my favourite fairy tale movies. Never knew what she saw in him tho. Sorry they're divorcing. Better luck next time for them both I hope.

I thought they were a good couple, I saw him in a documentary about The Thin Air, he was very eloquent. But Hollywood they get in and out of marriage like revolving doors, no stability, it must be hard for their kids.

Haven't seen Thin Air, maybe I'll check that one out at Netflix. I think Penn and his family lived in San Francisco, trying to avoid the whole Hollywood hype scene. Yes, I think being gone for months on location would be hard on marriages, not to mention the fact that some in Hollywood, I guess the fame goes to their heads and they think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. (Thinking of Britney Spears at the moment.)
