Troubled London songstress, Amy Winehouse must face a court in Norway after she has been allowed to appeal against a fine thrown at her for possessing cannabis. The singer could kiss goodbye to a Visa allowing her play in the U.S
The life of the award winning 24 year old star has been one much troubled and with the press hounding her every five minutes, the road could not have been more stony, yet the young slip of a girl from London is fatefully following the footsteps of her equally doomed husband as she is about to face a court for possession of cannabis.
Two months ago, she got to touch the four walls of a Bergen cell for one night and was only released when she put up her own bail money to the tune of 500 euros (around $714.)
The much publicised words of both parents has also hit the news today when it has been revealed by her father, Mitch that her chances of getting that desperately wanted American visa may be dashed for good if her conviction is set.
The sullen soul-stress is set to face the Norwegian judge on the 29 of February for possession, according to AFP news.
Liv Karlsen, speaking on behalf of the Bergen police station, where Winehouse was charged said,
"I can confirm that she must appear in court. If one appeals [against] a conviction, it's the rule that one has to appear in person, so this is not surprising."
Amy's ill fated husband, Blake Fielder-Civil was arrested in The Radisson hotel in Bergen with another when 7g of cannabis was found along with their belongings.
The singer was arrested but later released without charge after she forked out the bail money. Her father still insists that the drugs did not belong to his daughter that night, according to an interview conducted on a morning programme in the UK after the arrests. In the mean time, the 25 year old husband of the singer is being held on remand in London after being arrested on perverting the course of justice charges.
Believing that his daughter was innocent, he also believes that she was set up into signing a confession by the Bergen police which she may have thought was a release form instead.
Despite the police speaking very little English, they had insisted themselves that Ms Winehouse knew exactly what she was signing who also had an interpreter present.
The singer, who is most famously known for penning the hit single "Rehab," a song about her flatly refusing to go into drug rehabilitation appears to be ringing a little too true in recent times. She has openly admitted a drink and drug problem forcing her parents to ask fans to boycott her records in a bid to help their daughter get help with her addictions.
