When you think Congress has had enough time spending money they seem to find a way to spend even more. President George Bush has yet again signed a $555-billion bill Wednesday to keep government agencies running and to further fund the Iraq War.
According to
Yahoo News, Bush agreed to this spending bill on his way back to Texas for the new year.
This bill continues his "battle" with the Democrat-run Congress that Bush normally doesn't agree with on any issues.
As Bush mentioned to the press:
In February I will submit my budget proposal for fiscal year 2009, which will once again restrain spending, keep taxes low, and continue us on a path towards a balanced budget. I look forward to working with the Congress in the coming year to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
Conservatives and some political groups have recently criticized the bill for having $28 billion in domestic spending to exceed Bush's original budget.
The extra money was paid toward "emergency" spending and the defense budget.
