From the iPhone to the Kindle, gadgets this year have been released left and right. Were most of these gadgets winners? Some would believe not, but thats hard to argue when they were highly anticipated by the public.
According to Yahoo Tech, it's hard to take all the gadgets released this year and make a list of the top 10 gadgets of the year. The Top 10 Gadgets of 2007 are as follows:

Amazon Kindle: Blogger Christopher Null called the Kindle a "light, easy-to-read, and 3G-equipped Kindle a potentially 'game-changing device' that gives the sleepy e-book market a swift, much-needed kick in the pants."

Apple iPhone: The iPhone is considered one of the most anticipated and inovative gadgets because of its intuitive "touch-screen interface, top-of-the-heap mobile Web browser, and unmatched integration of music and video in a handset."

Asus Eee: Null gave the Asus Eee, which comes loaded with a 900MHz Celeron CPU, Wi-Fi, and a 4GB solid-state hard drive, a test-drive last month and called it "downright exciting."

The remaining gadgets on the list are:

Ibiza Rhapsody
Intel Classmate PC
Nokia N95
Pioneer "Kuro" Plasma HDTVs
Shure SE530 earphones
Tivo HD
Vudu

No way -- the Amazon Kindle was in the top 10? Who at Yahoo compiled this list and have they ever seen or used the Kindle? It's firewood!

MadMoney: If you haven't seen Wanderlaugh's coverage of the Kindle you might get a kick out of it -- it's quite the read.

This list of top tech items certainly is not what I would have expected. But then again, Yahoo is not the most well-known for compiling tech lists.

Their list of the worst tech also shows their reviewers must be substance abusing -- to name Apple TV and Microsoft Surface as the WORST gadgets shows they clearly don't know what they're talking about.

I agree that the Kindle is one of the worst gadgets. It simply makes no sense. Whether we like it or not, a laptop is still the least bad of all options for those looking to read electronic books. I use an Archos. Not as comfortable as a laptop, but certainly a lot lighter and smaller.

I have more problems with Microsoft Surface. Although not bad as an idea, it is also not exactly original as an idea. The worst is that it is essentially vapourware: lots of dreams, very little reality.

Fair enough, but Surface is about more than just beautiful colours and re-sizing photos. The technology that makes it do this is quite amazing. It's fast and multi-touch technology (two or more touch points on its screen) is truly incredible. The potential for more technology and applications to evolve because of mutli-touch is great.

I would be a fool to disagree. Nevertheless, Microsoft really got me on the wrong foot with this thing. Since I am a computer dinosaur (I started in 1978, i.e. this is my 30th year of hands-on experience) I have allowed myself to be disappointed more times than I care to remember with "wonderful new technology that is going to change the world" only to discover that the "going to" was probably planned for the fifth millennium or so.

So, while on the one hand, I can hardly wait to have one as my desk right now, I am also very happy with the two fresh batteries I just put in my old, trusty wireless mouse ^_^.

Nevertheless, I can't help but dreaming about my dictionaries appearing on my table, me reading five books at the same time and browsing through my photos while writing another article, and all that thanks to Surface? Hey, Microsoft, convince me! Give me one! I'll be your fiercest advocate if you can make it work!

Of course, I'll want one in my bathroom, kitchen and bedroom as well!

    lol.
