You may know him better as part of the group Crosby, Stills and Nash, but just one day after Dan Fogelberg died from prostate cancer it was released by bandmate Graham Nash that Stephen Stills has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Steven Stills the 62 year-old singer/songwriter known for his folk-rock style is said to be going in for surgery on his birthday, January 3, 2008 for prostate cancer.
Thankfully his cancer was diagnosed in the early stages, unlike
Dan Fogelberg who passed away with advanced prostate cancer just one day before it was released on the Larry King show that Steven also had been diagnosed with an early form of this type of cancer and this early diagnosis may well save his life.
As reported on
msnbc "Unlike Danny (Fogelberg), who left it too long to be seriously checked, Stephen found his at an early stage," Graham Nash told CNN's "Larry King Live" show.
Songs such as "Love the One You're With" is one of his well known songs from his solo career as well as other well known hits as part of the Crosby, Stills and Nash trio such as "Teach Your Children," "Woodstock," and "Marrakesh Express" to name a few.
So I wish him well in his surgery and hope he is on the way to a safe recovery soon after.

Prostate cancer is the third most common cause of death from cancer in men of all ages, though it is rare in men under 40.
Some of the symptoms of prostate cancer are problems passing urine, such as pain, difficulty starting or stopping the stream, or dribbling, low back pain and pain with ejaculation.
So guys step up and for your own health as a male, get a
prostate exam done even of you don't have any symptoms, as it is done to check for a variety of possible problems.
