Daniel Grayling Fogelberg who may be better known as Dan Fogelberg to his many fans was born in Peoria, IL. August 13, 1951 has died at his home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side December 16, 2007.
The above YouTube video is of Dan singing "Leader of the Band" a song he wrote for his father.
"Leader of the Band" was written for my father Lawrence Fogelberg who was a musician, educator, and band leader. I was so gratified that I was able to give him that song before he passed on.
At age 56 Dan has succumbed to prostate cancer which he was diagnosed with in May of 2004.

Dear friends,
Dan left us this morning at 6:00am . He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity, and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.
