A tow truck driver in Gresham, Oregon was a bit miffed at a ticket. Instead of just going in and paying the fee he decided to get even by towing a police cruiser. He ended up with more than his one ticket though.
32 year old Steven Syverson hooked his tow truck to a mark police car that was responding to a domestic disturbance call.
A fellow police officer saw Syverson hooking up his comrades cruiser and told the man to unhook the car. Even though Syverson hesitated he did let the car go.
When the officer that was driving the car in question returned to his cruiser Syverson got in his tow truck and locked the doors refusing to cooperate. From his car the ticked off tow truck driver called the police station to complain about the situation.
"apparently unsatisfied with the police response he had generated when he tried to tow a marked police vehicle."
The police called in the big guns. Syverson may have not listened to the police but when his boss stepped up to the plate he surrendered.
Syverson now has charges of unlawful use of a vehicle, obstructing governmental administration, interfering with a peace officer and criminal mischief.
