A NYC mailman was arrested recently during a sting operation that caught him in the act of stealing mail. Michael Olivio is due to appear in court and he was released on his own recognizance.
If you can not trust your mailman than who can you trust? A mailman from New York was found with more than a 130 pieces of mail and it was not in his mail truck either. The mail was found in his car.
Mailman Michael Olivio was arrested after agents had set up a sting using greeting cards in September and again this week. The latest one included cash and a transmitter. After Olivio finished his mail route he decided to keep the card.
When Olivio was busted he admitted that he has been taking greeting cards since last February and he averaged about 35 a day. How much cash was stolen was not disclosed.
The sting was set up after residents started to call the post office and were complaining that they were not getting their greeting cards.
The exact charges were not disclosed.
