Over a third of Britons do not wash every day, almost as many eat food from the floor and one in ten doesn't wash their hands after going to the toilet. That is what a survey revealed about our British friends.
The survey,
reported by Reuters, was carried out at the request of Milton, a pharmaceutical company. Other less than savory characteristics it unveiled included that over half a million Brits change their underwear once a month.
The survey was held among 3,000 Britons and Milton added its own basic tips for sanitary living at the end; you´d do best to wash towels and bedsheets once a week to avoid germ infections. Never, but simply never, pick up food from the floor. Another tip to prevent hygiene related diseases; clean chopping boards with disinfectant after use, to avoid food poisoning, Milton, a producer of antibacterial fluids products, said.
Milton commissioned the research because it wanted to get a closer insight into common hygiene, to help raise awareness of basic issues such as hand-washing.
The findings included reassuring facts too; 68 percent of Londoners take daily baths. London is an extreme city however, because it also scored highest on people that only bathe once a month.
