December 11th will be the last day for the hit Food Network series Emeril Live. But fear not fans of Emeril Legasse, as the show will continue on the network in the form of reruns.
TVWeek.com reports:
“Emeril Live” has been on the network since 1997 and will continue on the network in reruns, said Carrie Welch, a spokeswoman for the network. She declined to discuss the contract negotiations that brought the show to a close.
There seems to be few hard feelings, however, as Food Network has said they will continue to work with Emeril on other projects. His daytime show Essence of Emeril, for instance, will continue for the "foreseeable future." They will also work with him on various specials and possible new programs.
Emeril Live has been on the air since 1997 and is possibly one of the Food Network's most well-known shows, alongside such hits as Iron Chef America and Good Eats. It is, as the name suggests, filmed in front of a live audience that Emeril sometimes allows to taste his preparations.
Emeril Legasse has coined such catchphrases as "Kick it up a notch", "Pork fat rules!", "BAM!", and "Oh, yeah babe!" while performing on the show.
