After much publicity for Jermaine Jackson in the UK over the last year or two, he has now confirmed that the most famous all brother boy bands is about to reunite and begin a tour next year which will include Michael
Jermaine Jackson, who has spent much of his time in recent years mingling in with fellow celebrities in the UK for various British TV shows, has told the digital broadcasting station, BBC 6 Music, that there are tour dates yet to be confirmed but will be taking place for the Jackson Five including their famous brother of all, Michael.
Jermaine said during an interview with BBC:
"Michael will be involved. We feel we have to do it one more time. We owe that to the fans and to the public. "
The last tour which saw the brothers together was in 1984. It was the tour to promote that album, Victory. Yet apparently, by all accounts, Michael is still in two minds as to go on tour with his family again, but not according to Jermaine. The band have enjoyed a mild success over the years before disbanding in 1990, following their final album as a group in 1989.
Yet this is not the first time that we have heard of rumours of the band reforming and going on tour. Such whispers have been generating for years but it is only now that these rumours have been confirmed by one of the group. The time in which the band were said to be regrouping last was at the point before Michael's 2005 trial for charges of child abuse.
Jermaine continued at the interview:
"There's been so much going on, getting over all the hurdles that we all were faced with during Michael's trial, but we are stronger than ever. I'm gonna say thank you, thank you, thank you so much to all the fans and the supporters of my family all over Europe, all over the UK especially, who came out to show their love and their support."
He told the music station that he had been happy to hand over the lead vocal reins to his younger brother, Michael decades ago, and that now seemed also a good time to do it again. It was also mentioned that it could not be a Jackson tour without Michael anyway.
Jermaine confirmed the presence of his younger brother saying:
"He was at the meetings. Michael will be involved."
As well as all the old favourites, there has been much talk about new material, and rumours of the band spending a lot of time in the recording studio have also been confirmed by Jermaine.
The brothers, namely, Tito, Marlon, Jackie, Jermaine, Michael and Randy, stormed to the top f the charts on both sides of the pond with hits as I Want You Back, ABC and Can You Feel It.
Yet the brothers as a group have always been in the shadow of Michael's extraordinary success as a solo artist. Even Janet Jackson has lapped up more fame as an artist in her own right over the last two decades.
There are, of course the underlying rumours of why they should be touring, if it is about the brothers finding the linings of their pockets some how exposed, the tour is set to make them over night millionaires all over again....
