article imageApple Gets Creative With Mac Ads

By Chris V. Thangham     Nov 21, 2007 in Technology
Several readers have seen a funny ad from Apple with its Mac vs. PC characters and mocks Microsoft's Windows Vista. These ads have shown up on a number of sites such as News.com, Engadget.com and PCMag.com.
The Apple advertisement featuring Mac vs. PC characters played by Justin Long (Mac) and John Hodgman (PC) was shown on a number of sites. The ad was captured on video (above) and it shows two ad blocks - a leaderboard ad as well as a large vertical block. The horizontal leaderboard ad shows a sign “Don’t Give Up on Vista” and the other shows the Mac, PC characters.
The ad highlights problems of PC customers who are trying to switch back to XP from Vista. Some people also switch from PC to Mac, so the PC guy is trying hard to make them stay with Vista but fails miserably.
It is a flash-based ad and allows the visitor to play the ad without leaving the page and it also includes audio.
This ad is really funny and clever. Now all Apple has to do is fix the iPhone mess and we will laugh even more.
