John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook known collectively as the Sex Pistols took the stage at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles to play for a sweaty crowd of 500 people.
Punk fans at the Roxy Theatre in L.A. were treated to the ultimate punk reunion: The Sex Pistols. Of course, Sid Vicious could not join them, being deceased, however Glen Matlock who also played bass during their heyday was there.
Apparently it was a bit rusty, with Lydon forgetting the lyrics to "Holiday in the Sun" but ad libbing "Paris Hilton, kiss my arse" in the song "Stepping Stone". He was also assailed with sound problems and heat.
"It's hotter than (expletive) hell up here," said Lydon, 51, clad in a traditional Indian kurta, tartan pants and blue vest and guzzling red wine from the bottle.
Always ready with a sarcastic quip, Lydon saw a girl rush up and hug guitarist Steve Jones and said "Steve Jones always gets the fat ones!"
There was an altercation as a fan threw a drink at his face. He said he would kill the "coward" if he found him.
The quartet have plans to make two television appearances in L.A. and then head to London to play for four nights, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their biggest album "Never Mind the Bollocks: Here's the Sex Pistols".
