Taco Bell's World Series bet: Steal a base, get a free taco

By Chris V. Thangham     Oct 23, 2007 in Entertainment
Many baseball fans will be wagering this World Series, some will be betting for a win for either team, while others for a free Taco. Taco Bell has released a promotion for every stolen base in the World Series, the fans will get a free Taco in the US.
Taco Bell, fast food chain unveiled a special promotion called, “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco”, which will be shown throughout the seven game baseball series between Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies.
Even though the promotion says “Steal a Taco” it means a free taco at the local Taco Bell’s restaurants.
Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch said to the media:
Millions and millions of people will be watching the Series and hopefully tuning in to see when they are going to get their taco"
There has been at least one stolen base in every World Series matches since 1990, so Taco Bell is destined to have at least one Taco free day. When the first base is stolen, Yum Brands Inc., will announce a Tuesday afternoon when customers can get the free Taco from any of the 5,800 restaurants in the country. Anyone eats in that restaurant during the giveaway period would be eligible for a free taco.
I hope whoever created this advertising campaign should just pray that not many bases are stolen, otherwise they may lose their job. Will you be wagering for a win for either team or will you wager for a Taco sandwich?
