Bill Gates Introduces Unified Communication

by ashley.woods4.
Imagine a life without voicemail. Does it bring a sigh of relief or panic? Bill Gates is determined to rid voicemail from all technology services with what he calls Unified Communication.
As CNN reports, Gates believes that much time is wasted using voicemail and recently found in one survey that the discontinuation of voicemail freed up three weeks for employees of an anonymous company.

The Unified Communication software Gates is developing will combine the technological communications we use today such as IM, email, web cameras, and phones.

The software has proven to be more efficient and also saves companies money in the long run. This program will connect people when they want to be connected - the screen on your computer, lap top, or handheld PC will show your contacts and state whether they are available, busy, in a meeting, etc. Much like the instant messaging systems used today. However, when someone is available for contact you will have the information available to call, email, instant message, text, or set up a video chat online.
