Den Bosch, a city in The Netherlands, will organize free public transportation for everyone in 2008. The government of the province of North-Brabant has decided this today when discussing three public transportation experiments.
According to
de Volkskrant, a leading Dutch newspaper, the experiments are about cheap and free public transportation. As a result of the decision, the city of Tilburg will lose its current free bus transportation. Passengers between 12 and 65 years old will now have to pay again for their bus trip.
The third experimental region are the surroundings of Breda. People will have to pay a fixed low rate of 50 Euro cents per trip for regional transportation in Drimmelen, Oosterhout, Geertruidenberg and Moerdijk.
