Brazil leads in International Emmy nominations

Brazilian shows and performers scored a world-leading seven nominations for the International Emmy Awards to be handed out next month, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced.
In nine categories, there were 38 nominees from 16 countries.
Brazilians had a wide lead in nominations.
Next was Japan with four and South Africa with three nominations.
The nominations were issued Monday in France. The winners will be announced on November 19 at the 35th International Emmy Awards in New York City. dpa ff
