Have you bought a "IonizAir" tabletop model air purifier between the dates of January 2003 to July 2004 ? If so, check this new recall for more information on the model and lot numbers of those that are part of the recall.
This particular voluntarily recalled model is called the "IonizAir Table Top Air Purifier" the model number for the affected product is P4620 and covers lot numbers
03 and
04 or models that have
no lot number listed on them. You can locate this information on the bottom of the purifier itself.
This model is about 6” x 3 1/2” x 11 1/4” in size and has a removable cartridge that has a silver-colored handle on it.
The importer of this product P3 International, of New York, N.Y. has gotten 10 reports so far of the purifiers melting or catching fire though it is reported that no injuries were sustained.
About 83,000 models were sold between January 2003 through July 2004 at a retail price range of $60-$90 in a variety of retailers stores, mail order and via the internet.
The manufacturer of this product is Leaven Enterprise Co., of Taiwan.
If you have one of these models (only the model with lot numberr 03, 04 and no number) they will replace the cartridge free of charge. To
