breaking news: Harlem Gas Explosion

By KJ Mullins     Oct 6, 2007 in World
A firefighter and at least 16 people have been injured as an explosion shook a five story apartment building in Harlem on Saturday. The building has twenty units. At this time it is not known for sure what caused the explosion.
Natural gas is thought to be the cause of the explosion at this time. It is curious though that the power utility company Con Edison says that there were no reports of a gas odour in the area reports MSNBC.
The Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta has stated that there was no evidence of illegal activity that could have caused the massive explosion.
Three children are among those that have been reported injured. The firefighter that was injured had been hurt by debris after the explosion.
