Docstoc - a user generated community for sharing professional documents

By Chris V. Thangham     Oct 5, 2007 in Internet
Docstoc is a new community based site in which the users share their documents to others via the widely accepted and embeddable Flash interface. So users can get the codes and embed in their sites like the YouTube videos.

Docstoc is a new startup that is generating some buzz. A video of the site is shown here along with an example of one of their documents that is available for everyone. The site helps to share professional documents with a simple and easy interface and they call themselves as “YouTube of documents”. There is another similar version called “Scribd” which allows similar sharing of PDF documents.
The site is in beta stage and is available only on a limited basis, so if you want to become a member, click this link and enter RWW as the invite code. Try to do this quickly as this free invites option may not be available for a long time.
You can store your documents online and view or share it with anyone, anytime. You can also set this as a private setting and allow only your friends to see it. It will be a good option to share large files to thousands instead of trying to send it to everyone.
You can share the following document types with Docstoc: .doc, .pdf, .xls, .ppt, .ppt, .txt.
I tried to use it with my account, for some reasons doesn’t work also it doesn't work in DJ. But in websites you can embed the codes there. Here is the link for a document that is available for everyone with links and codes.
