10-Year-Old Has Mouth Duct Taped Shut In After School Program

by Pamela Jean (GotTheScoop).
The 10 year old told his mom over the weekend that his mouth hurt. When questioned, he admitted that he had been in trouble and the classroom aide had duct taped his mouth shut for 5 minutes. Mom is outraged, and an investigation is under way.
Tonya Jones has filed an official complaint against the Cobb County, Georgia school for taping her 5th grade sons mouth shut during an after school program he was attending.

Apparently her 10 year old was having some difficulty behaving, and a classroom aide decided to tape his mouth shut, telling him that if he could sit quietly for 5 minutes, he would then be allowed to participate in the game the other kids were playing.

Ms. Jones stated that she was told by the principal of the school that there wasn't much he could do to the employee in question, as Friday had been the aides last day. He did indicate that another assistant was on leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Ms. Jones has also filed complaints with the Powder Springs police department, as well as with the school districts campus police.
