article imageA Furby for the next generation

By Susan Keeping     Oct 2, 2007 in Internet
When the Furby was first introduced, everyone had to have one. The Nabaztag rabbit operates on a similar idea but it is so much more technologically sophisticated than the Furby.
The rabbit is ready to go right out of the box. You just need to plug him into a wall socket and he automatically connects to your Wi-fi router. When you register your rabbit at the Nabaztag website people can send you messages through him. He can also check your email, read text messages and tell you the latest weather.
When you register at the website you chose what sort of messages you wish to receive through the rabbit, such as weather reports and messages from friends. You can also use the rabbit as an alarm clock, he can announce the time hourly if you wish, he can check and read your email to you, and he can read stories to your children. When he is talking his ears move and lights flicker.
The newest version, the Nabaztag/tag has a bellybutton that is basically a microphone. You can speak into the belly button and request the weather or you can tell him to go to sleep.
The Nabaztag rabbit is not cheap, he sells from $98 to $180 Canadian.
