Do you like to drive fast? Speed along without a care in the world? Race your buddies down the city streets? If you live in Toronto after Sunday those careless ways may cost you the licence you need to sit behind your wheel.
Street racing has been an issue in Toronto. With the speeding and accidents that are often caused by them a new law was implemented and started Sunday morning at midnight.
What does the new law do? One it gets the speeders that are most dangerous off the street. Anyone that exceeds 50 kilometres over the speed limit will quickly find out that speeds that high are not only dangerous to those around them but also to their wallets.
First up is having to bail your car out of the impound after seven days. Think of it as a time out for your 'Rod.
Next up is the hefty $2000 fine, which is at the lower end. The judge or police can up that fine if they so choose.
Last but not least is losing your licence for seven days. Which shouldn't be a problem since while you're in time out so is your car.
The new law is sure to tick off the ones to be affected but it just may save a life or two. Not a bad idea at all.
