Italy's Marta Bastianelli won the women's road race at the cycling world world championships in Stuttgart Saturday, breaking away from her rivals to claim victory on the 133.7-kilometre course in a time of 3 hours, 46 minutes and 34 seconds.
Defending champion Marianne Vos of the Netherlands came in second after holding off Italy's Giorgia Bronzini in a sprint finish. dpa az tp gb
