George Clooney and passenger, Sarah Larson suffered injuries after a Friday afternoon motorcycle accident in New Jersey, just over the Hudson River. Clooney is in the area filming an upcoming movie, Burn After Reading.
Actor George Clooney and a female companion aboard a motorcycle, crashed in a traffic mishap in New Jersey on Friday, just over the Hudson River. Clooney, operating the motorcycle, attempted to pass a car on the right, while the car was attempting to make a right turn. The accident occurred on Boulevard East, a narrow road capturing a scenic glimpse of the Manhattan skyline.
Clooney's spokesperson, Stan Rosenfield, states it differently. He says the 3:30 pm collision occurred when a Mazda Millenia signaled to turn left but turned right instead, striking the motorcycle. The operator of the vehicle has not been identified.
"It's a he-said, she-said right now, but you can't pass on the right in Weehawken or anywhere in Jersey," Weehawken Police Sgt. Sean Kelly said.
Clooney is in New York filming the movie Burn After Reading, co-starring Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton, and Frances McDormand.
46 year old Clooney suffered a broken rib and scrapes in the accident. His passenger, Sarah Larson, suffered a broken foot in the mishap. Both riders were wearing helmets. Clooney and Larson were treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen and released.
Although Rosenfield said that Clooney's injuries would take a long time to heal, he said the accident should not interfere with the filming of the movie.
Clooney who has a handful of movies and television shows under his belt of which he portrayed starring characters, divorced his wife of five years in 1993.
According to a mini biography on imdb.com, Clooney made a claim that he would never remarry or have children, which enticed both Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman each to wage bets of $10,000 a piece that he would be a dad before age 40. Both Pfeiffer and Kidman lost their bets and paid their debts. Clooney returned their checks, betting double or nothing and setting the age to 50.
Clooney was rated 'Sexiest Man Alive' twice by People Magazine, in 1997 and again in 2006.
