A female teacher from a private Christian school in Michigan has been charged with a sex crime for having an intimate relationship with one of her 15-year-old students she befriended last year.
31-year-old Stephanie Ann Stein resigned from her teaching position this past June at Plymouth Christian Academy in Canton, Michigan.

She befriended a 15-year-old student last year and was continuing to see him during this past summer break. She would stop by the boy's home and tell his mother that she wanted to "help him with his computer".

The teen's mother saw some text messages from Stein that were sent to her son. The messages were sexually explicit and caused the mother to become very suspicious of this former teacher and the "help" she was offering to the teenager.

"Stein has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct, third degree, one count of using the Internet to communicate with a minor to commit a crime, a four-year felony; and one count of distributing obscene material of a sexual nature to a minor, a two-year felony."

Police reported that Stein allegedly had sex with the boy in her own home at least once. She also left her own two small children at home, under the age of five, when she would meet with the teenager boy.

Canton Sgt. Rick Pomorski stated, "She said that she knew it was wrong and she would have to end it, and she did end it eventually."

She is out of jail now on a $50,000 bond and has been warned to not contact the victim in any way. On September 28 she is scheduled for a preliminary examination.

Instead of being a role model, some teachers are doing awful things like this. Sadly it happens again and again.

What a terrible thing to do to a young person.
What she has done is terrible and even more so from a Christian school.

What she has done to the boy is more than the obvious.

How will he be treated by those from that school?
My bet is he will have to leave the school either by the school telling him to leave or by the way he will be treated.
    I hope I am wrong.

I realize that kids these days are a lot smarter and in ways more mature than we were at the same age, but that doesn't change the fact that a child is a child no matter what their ages are. Something like this is morally and legally against the law, how can this teacher live with herself?

I had heard yesterday that she is getting a divorce from her husband.

To really get down to the raw basics of life, and I believe this is what it is, if she needed sex why didn't she get some one of legal age who would have been more than happy to oblige her I am sure.

Thanks for the comments. I also found it especially disturbing as this is a private Christian school. The parents of high school students must pay over $7,000 a year to send a student to this school, if they do not attend the church that owns the school - Calvary Baptist Church. Members of the church get about a $600 discount in tuition.
If it were me as his parent, I'd be thinking about all that money I wasted to have my kid learn good morals & the Bible teachings from a private Christian school!!!

I do not blame the school as I am quite sure I know some of the parents and their children that go to this school.
I believe one person that I know even teaches there.

I am sure that everyone even the church is devastated by this.

The former teacher is the one to blame not the school.

Thank you, picasso. It would be interesting if you could find out what these people are saying about this.

Still, I'd be upset paying that much money for my kid to learn morals & Biblical teachings, along with the rest of the curriculum, & to have a teacher bedding my kid down every chance she could! No, it's not the fault of the church, but perhaps they could sue the teacher for the "wasted" tuition fees?

    Too funny!
Actually, I don't know if it's really prevalent here, or it's just that I'm in Michigan & I like to write about local news I read.
    :)

Gee, I hope there's not "weirdness" in the water! I love living on a lake & don't want to ever become "sick"!!!
