Greek foreign minister Bakoyanni stays in post-election cabinet

Dora Bakoyanni remained in her post as Greece's foreign minister in the newly re-elected government of Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis following elections, it was stated Tuesday. Other reappointed ministers include Finance Minister George Alogoskoufis, who will be in charge with tackling difficult reforms in the new government. Greece's ruling conservatives, after narrowly winning a second term in parliamentary elections, promised Monday they would move ahead with tough economic reforms. The conservatives returned to power under the leadership 52-year- old Karamanlis, but with only a slim majority of 41.84 per cent and considerably fewer seats after devastating forest fires and scandals eroded his majority. dpa cp sc
