Southwest Airlines' CEO apologized to Kyla Ebbert in a marketing filled statement, after a flight attendant tried to kick her off a flight because of her outfit, but she's having none of it.
The Consumerist reports that she doesn't like the obvious marketing tie-in. Southwest's apology to Kyla came in the form of a press release touting their new "mini-skirt" fares.
Can't blame her there.
"They are exploiting me again by using my traumatic experience as a marketing ploy," Ebbert told ABC News.
That is what these companies generally do. In this case, they were a bit over the top about it.
In an interesting twist to this saga, the consumerist shows us that ABC news didn't quote the part of the "apology" that offended Kyla. For some reason, they chose to paraphrase it to make it sound more genuine. ABC news also went out of their way to report that she was on the flight to get breast enlargement surgery, which is really not important to the issue.
Had the apology been more genuine, the story may have ended there. It will be interesting to see how they spin this now.
