Toys R' Us is recalling 27,000 coloring kits because they conatin too much lead for the wee little ones. Please make sure you don't have this particular coloring kit. If you do, get rid of it.
How can this happen? Too much lead? Here is a description of the coloring kit itself....
The Imaginarium brand 213 Piece Wooden Coloring Case, which includes crayons, pastels, colored pencils, fiber pens, paintbrush, pencil, water colors, palette, white paint, ruler and pencil sharpener in a light tan wooden carrying case.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said no injuries have been reported due to this. This kit was sold online and at stores from October 2006 until this month. They were sold for $20.00.
Guess where they were made......... CHINA. Big surprise!
They would like parents to immediately take this away from their children, and return it to the nearest store for store credit.
For more information, contact Toys "R" Us at (800) TOYSRUS/869-7787 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. EDT Monday through Saturday and between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, or visit ToysRUs.com.
I had to add to this..... I don't understand if something is made on a productions line, how this can happen? Also, how can they not find this before it is sent out. If there were no injuries reported, how was this found out?
I have noticed so much coming from China is tainted in some way. Is there something going on with them and us I am missing? I was unaware of any major tension between them and us.
