Ben Stiller's new movie shooting in Hawaii has lost troubled star Owen Wilson. It has been reported that it was a mutual agreement between Stiller and Wilson for Wilson to drop out of the movie. Wilson was to begin filming in two to three weeks.
Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. also appear in the film with Stiller. The movie began filming in Hawaii six weeks ago.
Ben and Owen have made eight movies together," a source close to the film told Variety. "And he can't wait to work with Owen again. It's just not going to be on this film."
It is unclear if Wilson's role will be written out of the movie or recast.
The movie is about a group of big name actors filming a war story when they find themselves in a real combat situation.
Wilson is recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Another movie that Wilson is to appear in "Marley & Me" appearing opposite of Jennifer Aniston has not commented about new plans due to the actor's condition at this time according to Variety. That film is due to start production in January.
A Fox spokesman said, "It's a totally inappropriate question at this time when all of our thoughts and concerns are with his health and well being."
Wilson's next movie to be released is Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited." The release date is set at September 8.
