The PlayStation 3 is getting a few new upgrades that will make any PS3 owner happy. At LCG07 announced PlayTV for PS3, "watch, record and replay TV shows". With a few PSP updates as well.
Sony has announced that the Playstation 3 with being getting TV tuner / DVR for users in the European region. Which allows you to record your favorite shows like a TiVo. This will also help push PS3 sales in the coming months, recently announced 100 dollar price cut. With features like Remote Play, Home, Blu Ray Player and now PlayTV the 600 dollar price tag looks like a great deal.
PlayTV will evolve with time, with great added value functionality being updated via PlayStation Network; a feature that sets it above all other set top boxes. PlayTV will never be out of date." ... At least not for Europeans. PlayTV will hit Europe "early in 2008" with other PAL territories to follow. We've asked SCEA to comment on a North American version.
The PSP plays hand in hand with the new TV tuner. With the remote play capabilities the PSP while be able to view all your recorded content on your PS3, from where every you are.
