'Daily Show' to air reports from Iraq
by RobotGod.
The Daily show will boldly go where it has never gone before. To Iraq. For real this time. No green screen this time. It will not be a phony "remote". Prepare "Operation Silent Thunder: `The Daily Show' in Iraq."
Yahoo reports that the Comedy Central series will air "Operation Silent Thunder: `The Daily Show' in Iraq," with several onsite dispatches filed by Senior War Correspondent Rob Riggle.
Riggle will provide in depth coverage from the front lines. He could begin his reports as soon as Monday since he is scheduled to be back in New York this weekend.
Riggle performed for the troops with fellow comedians Horatio Sanz, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer as part of an entertainment tour titled "Operation Feel the Heat."
It's great that he actually went to Iraq. Bush would argue that the surge is working and this is proof. If it is safe for comedy, it is safe for our soldiers.
Furthermore this means that the Daily Show will be far more qualified to report about Iraq then most of the news media out there. It's sad, but true.
