A man walks into a beauty salon and bludgeons four grandmothers with a hammer, before making off with less than $90. Police arrest the culprit, Thomas Leyshon III, of Mountaintop after a manhunt.
Thomas Leyshon III, stormed into a beauty salon with an intent to rob, he accosts four grandmothers, one of them co-owner of Hairem Family Hair and Nail Care, and demands money from the cash register and from their purses.
The four grandmothers aged 56 to 76 didn’t offer any resistance, but Thomas beat them any way
with a hammer. He fractured one woman’s skull before running away with $90 in total money.
Andy Chopka, grandson of victim Jeanna Chopka said:
“It takes a coward to go after some old women,”
Prosecutor David Lupas said that this is a senseless act against the victims who were doing nothing more than spending a day at the beauty parlor and would have given the money without any resistance.
Leyshon was arrested after a day of manhunt and is being held on bail for an amount of $100,000.
Instead of a beauty treatment, the women are being treated in the hospital with head and facial injuries.
