Four Month Prison Sentence For Reading Ex-Girlfriends Text Messages

By Janice Ambrose     Aug 9, 2007 in Crime
A twenty three year old man from Prague in the Czech Republic has received a four month prison sentence for stealing his ex-girlfriends cellphone and reading her text messages.
Petr Koldus was punished for "breaking secrecy of delivered mail." He went to his ex's house in July, took her phone and read all her messages before sending them to his own phone.
The judge evaluated Petr's actions as dangerous to society. The young offender is astounded, and cannot understand his sentence.
A group of young women in a cafe have joked that the prisons will be full of jealous Czechs convicted for going through their partners cellphone mailboxes.
A thirty one year old woman, who wished to remain anonymous said,
"I think there is not a single person who has not done it, especially women."
