U.S. scientists have reanimated the corpse's of canines who have been dead for several hours. Sure, they may not be brain-eating, moaning, groaning zombie dogs, but they are zombies none the less.
The zombie dogs were created with the goal of eventually creating zombie humans.
The
technique, developed by scientists at Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research, involves draining the dog's blood and replacing with a freezing-cold saline solution. The dog's body temperature drops to seven degrees Celsius which causes hypothermia before death.
At this point, the dog will have no heart-beat, brain activity, or breathing capabilities. It's organs and tissue, however, remain perfectly preserved.
After three hours, the blood is replaced and the dogs are brought back to life via electric shock.
The success of the technique paves the way for a human trial; plans for which could be realized within a year.
This procedure could be very useful to humans in the future. People suffering from massive blood loss, such as wounded soldiers, could be saved more easily than they are today. Imagine that, an army of zombie soldiers. They would be unstoppable!
