Republican nomination candidate Rudy Giuliani’s estranged daughter, Caroline, won’t vote for her father if he ran for president. According to the 17-year-old’s Facebook page, she is a supporter of Democrate candidate Barack Obama.
Caroline Giuiliani's Facebook homepage, which was readily viewable to all members of the Harvard and Trinity School networks, showed her as a member of the group “One Million Strong for Barack” before 6 a.m. on Monday August 6.
Labelling herself as a liberal on her homepage, she later removed herself from the group after being contacted for comments from the Slate daily web magazine (http://www.slate.com/id/2171730/).
According to a New York Times article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/06/us/politics/07cnd-giuliani.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin), she also removed her entire Facebook page, following the airing of the Slate article.
Giuliani’s daughter, and her 21-year-old brother Andrew, have both been distant from their father for some time. This especially following the remarriage of their father to Judith Nathan, who has been under much public scrutiny following her union to the former mayor of New York.
Facebook features over 500 groups dedicated to the Obama campaign. The “One Million Strong for Barack” group is the largest counting over 300,000 members.
