Pencil removed from woman's head after 55 years

by RobotGod.
A 59 year old woman in Germany has had most of a pencil removed from her head after spending almost her whole life dealing with headaches and nosebleeds. Can you say ouch? That hurts.
Yahoo says that she fell over carrying the pencil in her hand when she was four.

"The pencil went right through my skin -- and disappeared into my head," Wegner told the newspaper.

At that time the technology was not available to operate on her safely. It just missed vital parts of her brain. But what I don't understand is that over all of that time the lead should have really hurt her and one would think that the pencil would disintegrate.

They got most of it, but the tip was in there so good, they could not get that.

I'm glad she will have some peace without it. I think she gets the point.
