Hello Kitty to punish bad-boy Thai police
by RobotGod.
Thai police have recruited an unusual ally. Hello Kitty, the sickeningly sweet global icon of cuteness, as a new disciplinary tool for officers found engaging in bad behaviour.
Yahoo reports that officers who get too aggressive with civilians, or who fail to turn off their engines when they park their squad cars, or commit other violations will be forced to wear bright pink Hello Kitty armbands as punishment.
Now THAT will get your officers up to par! Talk about embarrassment.
They used to just get a reprimand, but that did not seem to work. They are now hoping that shame will do the trick. Just imagine young Thai girls giggling at you and your pretty armband.
Not only will they have to wear the armband, but they will also have to be accompanied by whoever is the deputy chief on duty for the entire day.
What's next? Carrying Barbie dolls if this doesn't work?
