article imageVH1's "Mission: Man Band" Featuring Ex-Boy Band Stars Trying To Make It

By malan     Aug 2, 2007 in Entertainment
VH1's reality show "Mission: Man Band" features ex-boy band stars Chris Kirkpatrick (NSYNC), Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees), Rich Cronin (LFO) and Bryan Abrams (Color Me Badd) in a new group trying to recapture success many years later and MANY lbs heavier.
VH1 has released a slew of reality shows over the last year that revolve around ex-stars and their careers, love lives and home lives. Flavor-Flav (of Public Enemy fame), Bret Michaels (of Poison Fame), Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons of KISS have all enjoyed being in the limelight again thanks to VH1's cameras.
Now it's time to take on the ex-boy band-ers and see what they're up to now and how well they can perform these days. Enter "Mission: Man Band."
Ex-boy band stars Chris Kirkpatrick (NSYNC), Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees), Rich Cronin (LFO... wait... who?) and Bryan Abrams (Color Me Badd) have been brought on board to star in the new reality show "Mission: Man Band" that finds the quartet gathered as a new band trying to make it in the music industry. They have one month to write and record and perform a "hit single" that could put their careers back on the right tracks.
It would seem the show is a true last chance for at least two of the ex-stars as Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees) has been diagnosed with Leukemia and ex-Color Me Badd singer Bryan Abrams is shown at his day-job loading tires in a warehouse, far from the glitz and limelight his band enjoyed in their prime.
It has yet to be decided if this show is truly set up in an attempt to give the guys a shot at recapturing success or to give the viewing audience a hilarious train wreck to laugh at. One of the promos shows at least two of the ex-stars have ballooned over the years and the band being booed by a stadium full of basketball fans) but one things for certain. This one will be at the very least, "interesting" to watch.
