Fisher-Price is recalling 83 types of toys. Among them, the Big Bird, Elmo, Dora and Diego characters. Why? Because their paint contains excessive amounts of lead. And no one wants to be responsible for yet another stupid kid.
Yahoo is reporting that they will announce the recall on Thursday and it involves 967,000 plastic preschool toys made by a Chinese vendor and sold in the United States between May and August.
Thanks China. Another smart move. Because you know that if our kids eat paint, we will raise a generation of idiots. That will make it a breeze for you to attack us. Too bad Fisher Price saved the day.
The recall is the first for Fisher-Price Inc. and parent company Mattel Inc. involving lead paint. It is the largest for Mattel since 1998 when Fisher-Price had to yank about 10 million Power Wheels from toy stores.
They say that this recall is alarming because Mattel is known for its strict quality controls, and is a role model as far as how it operates in China.
Are we ready to get more of our products from within the U.S. once more? Like the good ol' days?
Back then, we didn't give a damn if our kids ate paint, cuz we knew it was paint that came from the good ol' U.S. of A.
