Ashes to Ashes - Life on Mars gets TV Sequel

Life on Mars was a Emmy and Bafta award winning British TV show about a cop who, according to the intro 'was hit by a car and went back to 1973'. After two series, the show concluded it's run and was also ported to the US market with new actors.
But a sequel to this hit series, titled 'Ashes to Ashes' after another David Bowie song is in production. This will star Philip Glenister, Marshall Lancaster and Dean Andrews as their respective characters in LOM (DCI Hunt, Chris Skelton and Ray Carling).

Although Sam won't be returning, the new character who has experienced an accident is DCI Alex Drake, played by Keeley Hawes, who ends up travelling back to the early 1980's.

According to details from Wikipedia, Alex Drake has been pouring over reports that Sam left behind in 2007 and that she patterns her 1981 with Sam's knowledge.

The series is set to pilot in 2008 but no exact date has been announced as of yet.
