Imagine the horror of finding out that some person is tipping off other pedophiles as to where the best place is to find children? This is exactly what blogger Jack McClellan has been doing! However, police say McClellan hasn't broken the law.
Jack McClellan, 45, tells
New York Times that he is a "self-described pedophile" who had Web sites that told where he liked to troll for children and explaining how he did so. Yet he claims he's never acted upon his sexual fantasies and never has touched a child, but "embraced them in a nonsexual way, mostly in Latin American countries.”
Having been run out of Washington state after the media in Washington brought attention to him and his activities online, he's worried about his safety. He now resides in Los Angeles, where he not only was born but also has the draw of "many world-class children’s attractions here, Disneyland, festivals and whatnot.”
"But his mere presence in Los Angeles — coupled with Mr. McClellan’s commitment to exhibitionistic blogging about his thoughts on little girls — has set parents on edge."
What's worse, is that he has no criminal record of any kind, and the police say that it seems he's done nothing illegal. Despite his actions and in-actions, the police have nothing to charge him with. Seems McClellan keeps just inside of the law by posting photos of children that were non-sexual in nature.
McClellan had quit posting pictures of children on his Web site, that "was shut down by its host several weeks ago but which he intends to start again, he said, with a Dutch host. On the site, he has described fairs, festivals and other spots that he hits at least three days a week, all to the fury of parents."
“If you look at things he has posted, he clearly is a pedophile,” said Lt. Thomas Sirkel, who works in the Special Victim’s Unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “Has he acted on it? I can’t say,” Lieutenant Sirkel said. “But I’ve been in this business for 20 years, and I have never seen one who has not.”
Two online Web-based groups for parents, Peachhead and Booby Brigade located on either side of LA, have kept up with "Jack" sightings and are attempting to keep him within sight as much as possible. McClellan though, keeps a low profile, and lives mostly in his car, only occasionally renting a room somewhere. Parents though, have taken to posting McClellans picture any place that they can, because everyone agrees that he is a danger to all children.
