Ill. town tries to ketchup to record

By RobotGod     Jul 29, 2007 in Food
First there was the world's largest ketchup bottle. Now in southern Illinois they are after the record for the world's largest ketchup packet. One can only hope they make it explode once they are done.
Collinsville Illinois is now partnered with the H.J. Heinz Co. Their goal? To make a giant ketchup packet, according to yahoo. They will fill an 8-foot-tall, 4-foot-wide plastic pouch with 1,500 pounds of ketchup for a school fundraiser.
Heinz donated 4000 glass ketchup bottles, so that people can pay $1 and pour it into the giant packet. The money will go to the Collinsville Christian Academy, which was damaged by a fire.
This isn't their first ketchup oddity. The town also has a 170-foot-tall water tower known as the "World's Largest Catsup Bottle".
I say keep up the weirdness. More towns should do fun things like this. How else ya gonna get strange landmarks like giant ketchup towers and packets?
