Robber Shoots Family's Dog

By Laura Trowbridge     Jul 20, 2007 in Crime
A Detroit family had their Boxer dog shot this morning by a gunman who then broke into their house. The strange thing is this same man had come to their home the night before asking questions about their dog and claiming that his dog was missing.
The woman of the house said when her husband and granddaughter left for work early this morning she went outside to do yard work in the back yard.
The family's Boxer dog was on a chain outside. The man she met the night before climbed over her fence while she was outside working and came over to her dog. He then shot the dog in its nose.
He went inside her home after this. The woman's 90-year-old mother was inside the home when he came in.
He ended up not stealing anything at all and took off running. The police were given a description of the man and will be trying to track him down.
The dog should recover and be okay from the gunshot wound.
