The King Of Rock But Forget About Roll: Elvis Image On Stone

By M Dee Dubroff     Jul 20, 2007 in Entertainment
The king may be dead, but his image is still said to live on a very strange rock found in Estes, Park Colorado. Does it really bear the unmistakable profile of the king of rock and roll? Read on for the answer, but don’t be cruel.
Colorado rock collector, LaDell Alexander, aged 60, has one very special rock she has recently added to her collection. She swears this new stone bears the face of Elvis Presley on it. Oddly, a close up of this rock reveals a human male head with dark hair and mutton chop sideburns. Minus the wriggling pelvis, another Elvis trademark, how could anything associated with his name ever be properly assessed?
Mrs. Alexander, who divides her time between Estes Park and her home in Texas, told the press that the rock was one of many she bought in various places the year before. She didn't notice the unique pattern until she cleaned them up before using them to decorate her yard.
She told The Fort Collins Coloradoan:
"People are calling me the Elvis Rock Lady. Seven out of 10 people see Elvis" on the rock, she said.
This reminds me of the story about the farmer who found a potato that was shaped like the face of Richard Nixon. Does anyone out there remember that? I don’t remember what he did with the potato, but Mr. and Mrs. Alexander are planning to sell the rock on eBay and donate the proceeds to one of Presley's foundations.
Go figure.
