The catch of the day was a huge one for a pair of fishermen in Thailand. They only estimate it at 256, which is 36 pounds more then his scale can handle. The world record for a carp is 88lb.
This one is the one that did not get away.

Yes. I am sure that it is real. I myself have seen amazing sized carp while fishing. They can grow to be huge. And they are basically oversized goldfish.

They said the fish kept slapping people with it's tail. They don't really go into detail about how tough it was to reel in, but that must have been quite a fight.

They say it is the largest carp caught with rod and line. The man is probably some kind of local legend now, I would imagine.

Can't help but wonder if they cooked it up or threw it back.
