How can the Earth return to a healthy planet? VHEMT says the only way is to elimate the human race. Not by war or famie but simply by not producing any more of our own kind. Are they serious?
Actually yes they are. The group VHEMT stands for Voluntary Human Extinction Movement and it's a real movement. They believe that the Earth can not survive if humans continue to inhibit it.

VHEMT is pronounced vehement. And that's how the members feel about their movement. While they realize the chances of anyone seeing the movement win is unlikely in the near future they hold out for long term goals.

They consider it a success for every member that decides to breed no more.

Voluntary human extinction is simply a concept to be added to existing belief systems, not a complex code of behavior to live by. No committee of Movement shakers decides what position everyone else should take.

Most Volunteers subscribe to the philosophy embodied in the motto: "May we live long and die out," but if someone doesn't want to live long that's their business.

Les U. Knight gave the movement a name but did not create the movement. It is thought that the movement was always a thought process. Les U. Knight though now is the spokesperson of the group.

This is dangerous thinking and they are on a very slippery slope indeed. I sometimes think of humanity as a virus but then I remember that viruses are intelligent.

Trust me, I was shaking my head the entire time I was writing this one. The fact they are serious is down right scary.

And how would they make sure that everyone died-off? Seems kind of fishy to me!

    Good post...very thought-provoking!

I think it is a wonderful idea but to check how effective it is I thing they should go first! They can let us know how it is being extinct and then we can think about it.
